Yesterday I was invited to attend the opening of the IET University Poster Session during the 2007 Broadband World Forum Asia. It was my third time to take part in such a great forum in relation to my profession. I think all my attendances were good opportunities for me to meet and communicate with the experts and other students of my research area in the world wide.

I arrived in China World Hotel at 10:30 am and was welcome into the ARIA restaurant. Then I met some students from Beijing Jiaotong University, my undergraduate college. Especially I forgathered one of my best friends, Li Zhaohua, who shared the same profession with me in the undergraduate time. We talked together about a lot of happy stories between us before and I introduced him to my classmates from BUPT. Then we shared our performance and realizations in our respect research areas.

At about 11 am, opening speeches were announced by IET Vice-President, Chris Earnshaw and Professional Operation Director, Paul Jackson and other senior university and industry experts.  They thanked us to support in the organization of IET University Poster Session and believed this would be a very successful event which to provide a good communication platform between the universities and industry. Then all the participators communicated freely about the development of broadband in the world and exchanged their business cards for further communications.

In the afternoon, I went to China World Trade Center to visit to the exhibition of the 2007 Broadband World Forum Asia. A large number of companies exhibited their new technologies and products in the exhibition. Being a graduate student, I asked the market manager of each company about the principles of their products in detail and the development direction of relative technologies. Those experts’ professional responds took me very interested and excited in the communication world. And I heard some technologies such as multi-play and ICT etc for the first time.  

Finally, I went back to school at 4:30 pm satisfyingly. And I felt that taking part in such a famous world forum was another excellent approach for me to learn current communication technology and obtain industry development tends which were benefits for my career.
